The ConnectEd project
Many institutions, both national and European, affirm that digital literacy and accessibility are essential if citizens are to live and work in this new technological era.
The digital revolution is having a huge impact on the labour market and on the skills needed for the new economy, with the automation of more routine tasks and the creation of new jobs in the digital field. As a result, people with few digital skills may find it difficult to access quality education and employment.
Marginalised populations with low digital skills can find it difficult to find and apply for jobs that require the use of digital technology; and not only that. A lack of digital skills increases isolation and social exclusion, limiting their full participation in society. Without these skills, many people face barriers to entering the labour market and accessing essential services.
How are we going to do this?
Our objective is to reduce the digital gap through innovative methodologies adapted to the needs of disadvantaged groups and to connect people with the knowledge and tools necessary to improve their quality of life and their professional future.
To this end, we have established the following objectives:
To reduce the digital gap
by improving the digital skills of people from marginalised communities and to promote their social and labour integration.
To turn disadvantaged students
into educators and creators of learning, employment and social participation opportunities in their own communities through the acquisition of certain skills and competencies, sharing in their environment the methodology developed through the training modules.
To provide innovative tools
to VET educators with which marginalised communities can improve their integration and participation in society through training and empowerment in digital skills.
Contribute to the Digital Education Action Plan
promoting a high-performance digital education system to have competent educators who are confident in the digital environment, offering the same course to the organisations' personnel.
Implementation
To achieve these objectives, the ConnectEd consortium will implement the following activities:
- Create a series of materials divided into three levels, depending on each participant in order to provide training appropriate to individual abilities to improve digital skills.
- 1 LTTA aimed mainly at vocational training teachers who will receive training in digital skills, so that they can more easily improve their classes with digital tools and tasks that will improve the training of participants in terms of digital skills.
- A course divided into 3 levels (basic, intermediate and advanced) so that each participant can train according to their knowledge and an online platform so that they can put what they have learned into practice.
- 3 multiplier events to share and promote the project and its results with other institutions and organisations related to the VET field at a local level.
- Final conference, once the project is finished, to share and promote the project and its results, with the participation of two people who have taken the course to talk about their experience.
